GDPR Register update: ICO Frameworks included, How-To added
The GDPR Register went live a couple of weeks ago with a phenomenal feedback. Considering the overwhelming interest, the register has been updated to include ICO Frameworks too. This comes along with a How-To section, enabling interested parties to better understand the registers structure.
TL:DR / Summary
- ICO Included: The comprehensive, GDPR Codes of Conduct and Certifications now integrated Frameworks approved by the ICO.
- Open the Register: Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks
- Check the How-To: How-To: Structure and Fields of the Register
- Call to Action: You're invited to explore the register and provide feedback to help improve future iterations.

In total, six Frameworks approved by the ICO added
The Information Commissioner's Office maintains a transparent and easy to access register of Codes of Conduct and Certifications.
Data subjects, companies and data protection experts who are active both, in Europe and the UK, may require easy access to Frameworks in both areas. The comprehensive and centralised Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks facilitates research on those initiatives, now.
Innovation by market experience
Consolidating Frameworks across Europe and the United Kingdom in one comprehensive and centralised Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks will also foster innovation. Interested parties will recognise already existing and as (UK) GDPR compliant approved. Thus, stakeholders may build upon such experience while addressing their day-to-day challenges saving resources on reinventing the wheel or reiterating challenges which are already concluded.
How-To to facilitate use of the Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks
The comprehensive and centralised Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks was developed against the rudimentary maintained registers of European Data Protection Authorities. Those either proved inaccurate and outdated or unnecessarily hard to reach. Still, the provided information and transparency is not aligned.
The Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks consolidates the available public information. As the public information is provided in various fashions, some terminology is not used consistently. To facilitate the understanding and effective use of the Register of (Co-)Regulatory GDPR Frameworks, a new How-To section has been published.
The How-To section explains the intent of each field / information. Alongside the How-To indicates, where the information might be enhanced in future. Everybody remains invited to contribute to the register. We invite everyone to send additional or updated information if at hand, as we are always open to feedback to improve this resource for the benefit of the entire community. Just reach out!
